Achievements

1. Department of Sociology was selected as an Advanced Department under College with Potential for Excellence Scheme by UGC.
2. Workshop on “Eradication of Poverty: Some new dimensions” organized by the department in the session 2010-11 (under C.P.E. Scheme of UGC).
3. Interdisciplinary Workshop / Lecture on “Social Justice: Concept and Perspectives” was organized by the department in the session 2010-11(under C.P.E. Scheme of UGC).
4. Workshop on Research Methodology was organized by the department in the session 2010-11(under C.P.E. Scheme of UGC).
5. Two field surveys were organized by the department in the session 2010-11(under C.P.E. Scheme of UGC).
6. International Webinar on the topic “Relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in Post Modern Era” held on 14th October 2020 at Jagat Taran Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj.


7. Special Lectures and Workshops are organized regularly by the Department.
8. Various competitions such as project work, group discussion, power point presentation, etc. are organized.
9. Visits to slum areas, rehabilitation centers, etc. are organized every year for perceptual and on-sight learning.
10. Workshops are regularly organized for the students for career orientation and entrepreneurship.
