About the Department

Music Department has two subjects in Under graduation level ie Vocal & Tabla. The faculty members are as follows

  Aim & Objectives- Besides imparting knowledge of Music according to the syllabus, Department offers many more to students in order to know our cultural heritage through music as well as Importance and benefits of music in our day to day life through our programmes, which are designed to benefit our students, like special Lecture cum Demonstration by experts, Sur Taal ka Adaan Pradaan, Special lectures and courses, Cultural activities etc.

Special Lecture cum Demonstration/Workshop by Experts

• Special Lecture cum Demonstration – was held on 07/02/2024 in Vocal room. The Resource Person was Prof. Pt. Prem Kumar Mallick (Professor, Faculty of Music & Performing Arts, A.U.) and the Topic was “Shastriya evam Upshastriya Sangeet ki Vibbinna Gayan Shailiyan tatha unme prayukt Taalon ka Vishleshan”
• Special Class was taken by Dr. Madhu Rani Shukla (Founder & Secretary, Vyanjana Art & Culture Society) on 07/03/24 in Tabla Room. She taught many Folk songs of UP ie Hori, Kajri and Banna Banni etc.
• Special Lecture cum Demonstration – was held on 29/03/2022 in Tabla room. The resource person was Prof. Pt. Vidyadhar Prasad Mishra (H.O.D. Faculty of Music & Performing Arts, A.U.) and the Topic was “Banaras Gharane ki Upshastriya Sangeet ki Prampara”
• Workshop on “Music Therapy: Different Aspects and Its Clinical Applications” jointly organised by Innovation Cell & Music Dept. The Resource Person was Prof. Sangeeta Pandit, HOD, Faculty of Performing Arts, BHU. on 18/12/2018 at Rabindralaya Auditorium.
• Special Lecture Cum Demonstration was organised on 28 Nov 2018 By Prof. Jayant Khot Head, Music Dept., University of Allahabad. The topic was “Gwalior Gharane ki Vibhinna Bandishen”.

Other Departmental Activities of every session

• Sur Taal ka Adan Pradan, A knowledge exchange Programe among the students of Music (Vocal & Tabla) every month.
• Induction Programme for First Year Under graduation students. Once in every year.
• Rabindra Jayanti, Birth Celebration of Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore scheduled in May.
• World Music Day scheduled on 21st June.
• Matri Bhasha Diwas, song presentation by Music Department in different languages, scheduled on 21st February.
• Patriotic group song presentation by the students of Music Department on Republic Day (26th January) and Independence 15th August) every year.
