About the Department

The Department of Economics in Jagat Taran Girls’ Degree College was established in 1975. . The graduate course was introduced in the same year. The post graduate programme is self - financed course which was introduced in 2017 and the PHD programme started in 2023.The department moved forward under the guidance of Dr. Ratna Chatterjee who retired in 2006
